Fedoratalk

IMG_1883

I did not expect that the snom 300 gets so fast up and running with Fedoratalk SIP. But as you can see its pretty easy.

Just plug the phone into your LAN (maybe some firewall rules to change, depends on your setup), open your Browser with the IP of the phone (wich will told you at the setup), follow the instructions from fedoratalk after you maybe had edited your FAS Account (wich I allready had sor quite a while) and you are in.

At this time sadly at the neither at the Fedoratalk page nor the FAS Account Page where VOIP is mentioned exists a kind of csv phonebook from all Fedora FAS Accounts. I put it allready at the #fedora-admin channel to know and hopefully there is some change soon, because I know some more guys with Fedoratalk up and running would love to update their adressbooks.

If you have to test it after your setup was comleted you can call one of the Conferencerooms and you can hear a voice telling you something ;-) That would mabye the best way for checking if all is OK.
I also added a second “Identity” for Landline calls so if you have a (german) Flatrate for national or even International call you now can fedoratalking to me and as you can see in the picture I recordet a small .wav file and when someone calls at the “Fedoraline” it will also have a custom ringtone.

I allready had some nice conversations with cwickert and rrix. Thanks for that Testcalls. At next Meetings or Events it will be a good thing to test and also for Meetingrecordings via the extra plug at the phone …
